Bon Courage French Tutoring

for Middle and High School Students

Welcome

Effective and Supportive French Tutor

At Bon Courage French Tutoring, I offer personalized help with French for high school and middle school students. I provide homework assistance, test preparation, and support all aspects of language learning. Working with a fluent French speaker, students can practice their conversational skills in a comfortable, supportive environment. Using best practices in language learning, I strive to help students improve their study habits and grades. Additionally, I offer individual and group instruction for homeschoolers grades 5-12. I am passionate about helping students achieve success in their study of the French language.

How It Works

How It Works

Individual Tutoring Options

After an initial meeting to discuss a student's needs, I will present a plan of study. Whether a student requires to meet only once or twice to work on a specific area or if they need ongoing weekly support, I will work with your schedule. In addition to meeting in-person, I offer students online, as needed. This can be very convenient for support between our scheduled sessions.

Homeschool Courses

I provide individual or group instruction to homeschool students grades 5-12. I am very well-acquainted with public school French curriculum and can ensure that level requirements are met or exceeded.

I also offer individually tailored enrichment classes, using a unit study format covering a range of topics.

Travel Preparation

Looking to build or brush up on your French speaking skills before your trip? I can help you learn and practice travel-essential vocabulary and phrases, as well as guide your study to optimize your learning in the shortest amount of time.

My Goal

I look forward to meeting the needs of all of my students in their French study. I provide an organized, supportive approach to language learning. By getting to know my students, their interests and their learning style, I am committed to providing instruction and guidance to lead to successful outcomes in their French programs.

About me

About me

With over thirty-five years of French study, I bring my passion and enthusiasm for the French language and culture to my work as a tutor. I have a BA in French, completing post-baccalaureate work during the pandemic. For twenty years, my professional career was put on hold as my two children and I moved around the world with my husband, who served in the US Air Force. I previously worked as a chemical engineer in environmental consulting and most recently, for a multinational software company. I spent four years in Europe, providing not only the opportunity to spend time in France with friends, but also to learn Italian. I have been a member of the Simsbury Youth Lacrosse board for the past eight years, serving as a coach for grades 3-8 and VP, head of the K-8 girls program, and currently am the girls officials coordinator. I currently organize the bimonthly French conversation group at the Simsbury Public Library and teach a French course through the Simsbury Continuing Education Department. I am a current member of the American Association of Teachers of French and the National Tutoring Association.
